Survivors include brothers, James (Becky) Rasmussen, Bellevue, NE, and Dave (Vivian) Rasmussen, Richland, WA daughters, Wendy Larsen and Tammy Olesen, both of Avoca, IA grandchildren, Jake (Rachel) Olesen, Waukee, IA Kayla (Ben) Irlmeier, Adair, IA Cody Hansen, Walnut, IA Jayna (Dylan) Robinson, Shelby, IA Derrick Wood, Atlantic, IA Bryanna Wood, Avoca, IA one great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.įuneral services for 77-year-old Suzanne Larsen of Walnut will be Thursday, February 1st at 2 pm at Peace United Church in Walnut. Suzy was preceded in death by her parents, and also brothers Gary and Robert. Suzy’s favorite activities revolved around spending time with her family, such as the annual Christmas shopping adventure with her two daughters, granddaughters, and granddaughter-in-law, and attending sporting events of their grandchildren, a game on TV, and eating at Pizza Ranch with Melvin. Suzy decorated their beautiful home with antiques before it was a trend. Dave 'Coach' KochHearts broke on Monday, Septemwith the passing of Dave 'Coach' Koch, 74, of Hamden. Melvin and Suzy won many of the town’s holiday lighting contests. Celotto, 90, of Northford passed away peacefully on Saturday, Septemat MidState Medical Center, Meriden with his family by his side. What brought Suzy and those around her the most joy was her decorating her entire home for the holidays and gathering there with family, as well as decorating extensively at Peace Haven Retirement Home, which she retired from last year after more than 35 years. Melvin and Suzy coached Little League Softball from 1981-1989. Suzy continued to make beautiful floral arrangements throughout her life. Suzy was the owner of Suzy’s Seramic Seller and later co-owned Bouquet of Memories flower shop with her best friend Sharon Sorrells. Suzy was a Champion Hula Hoop Contest winner, she held a Rebound Record in basketball for 29 years, and was recognized by The Southwest Iowa Conference as a guard on Walnut’s girls’ 6-on-6 basketball team, and she held the “Energizer Bunny” title of the family for over 50 years. She was married to Melvin Larsen on May 2, 1964. Suzy graduated from Walnut Community High School in 1964. Suzanne Mary Rasmussen was born to Erik Levi Rasmussen and Norma (Knudsen) Rasmussen in Atlantic, Iowa on September 26, 1946. Suzy Larsen of Walnut, Iowa, passed away at CCHS hospital in Atlantic, Iowa, on January 27, 2024, following a brief illness.
